Családtörténeti példák

O. család • Kajárpéc és Felcsút
A család útja Győr vármegyéből Fejér vármegyébe vezetett; a kutatás 1780-ig ért vissza. Amikor egy család vármegyét vált, a szál könnyen elszakad: a folytatás egy másik egyházközség, gyakran másik levéltár anyagában található meg, és csak akkor köthető össze, ha a bejegyzések adatai pontosan illeszkednek.
D. család • Budapest, Óbuda
Az óbudai anyakönyvekből 1763-ig vezettem vissza a leszármazást, végig ugyanabban a városrészben. A 18. századi városi anyakönyvek sűrűn lakott környezetet dokumentálnak, ahol egyazon néven több család is élt egyszerre — itt minden generációt külön kellett igazolni, hogy a leszármazási sor biztosan a helyes ágon fusson.
S. család • Bátorkeszi, Gajar és Nógrádmegyer
A család nyoma három település anyakönyveiben húzódott végig, két mai ország területén. A szálakat 1824-ig sikerült összekötni. Az ilyen kutatás legnehezebb része nem a bejegyzések megtalálása, hanem annak bizonyítása, hogy a különböző helyszíneken felbukkanó, azonos nevű személyek valóban ugyanannak a családnak a tagjai.
